About Us
For over 30 years, the Peterborough Sailing Club has been a gathering place for sailors in the Kawarthas. The Club brings together a wide variety of individuals, from beginner to experienced sailors, all sharing a common interest in sailing. The result is a fun and friendly environment in which to participate in the sport.
Location and Facilities
The Club owns waterfront property on the best sailing lake in the Kawarthas, Clear Lake. Just 2.8 kilometres north of Young’s Point, the Club is a short 25-minute drive from Peterborough.
Geared to dinghy sailing, our boat storage and launching facilities enable us to store and “dry-sail” approximately 50 centreboard craft of up to 16 feet in length. There are also storage facilities for sailboards and limited space for trailer-launched boats of slightly larger size. Plenty of dockage and a launching ramp makes boat handling a breeze.
Our cottage clubhouse offers a fully-equipped kitchen, a lounge area, gas barbeques, washrooms, and change-rooms. The grounds around the building are dotted with picnic tables and shade trees. Swimmers will appreciate the waters of Clear Lake accessible from the dock or shore.
Driving Directions
Travel north from Peterborough on highway 28 to Lakefield. Continue on highway 28 north through Lakefield towards Young’s Point. Approximately 2.8 kilometres north of Young’s Point, turn right off highway 28 onto Clear Lake Road. Proceed down the hill towards the water. Just before you reach the shoreline of the lake, make a left turn onto the road that runs north along the lakeshore. Watch for the Peterborough Sailing Club signs.
